Are you ready to turn your passion for birds into action? Join us for a special day of action at Audubon Great Lakes: Advocacy Day and luncheon at the Michigan State Capitol, where we will bring Audubon members together to speak up for bird-friendly policies.

Michigan’s birds are facing a biodiversity and climate crisis. We need your help to speak up for policy solutions that will protect and restore wetlands, increase conservation funding and address climate change to protect vulnerable Michigan birds, like the Black Tern and Piping Plover.

Whether you’re a first-time advocate or a seasoned pro, your voice as a constituent carries important weight. At Advocacy Day, you’ll meet with elected officials and their staff, alongside Audubon policy experts, to share the importance of protecting birds. No previous advocacy experience is required, and virtual training will be provided to attendees prior to the event.

We are excited to have bird conservation and climate change champion, Michigan State House Speaker Pro Tempore Laurie Pohutsky (D-Livonia) provide a keynote talk during the luncheon.

RSVP to reserve your spot.

Lunch will be provided. Vegetarian options will be available. If you have additional dietary restrictions, please reach out.

In addition, a travel stipend will be available for chapter members traveling for the event.
